You know that part in When Harry Met Sally at the diner when Meg Ryan….uh….you know, and the woman watches her and says, “I’ll have what she’s having.”? Well that’s how I feel about Jamie O’Banion. She’s flawless – smart, beautiful, and successful. Like wildly successful. This year, she was named one of the Four Women Entrepreneurs To Watch In 2017, and at 35, her networth is $50 million. My point is that if Jamie O’Banion tells me she does something to keep herself looking youthful, I’ll try it.
Enter the GloPro, an at home microneedling tool. O’Banion and her dermatologist dad cofounded the brand Beauty Bioscience, and together created the GloPro. Microneedling is just an easier, and scarier, way to say collagen induction therapy. It’s the process of using tiny needles to puncture the first layer of your skin. It’s counterintuitive, but creating these injuries stimulates the natural healing process of your skin. This process stimulates the creation of collagen and elastin, improves skin texture, and helps with product absorption. Most importantly, it slows down signs of aging. I don’t know about you, but if I’m buying a pricey moisturizer, I want to know I’m getting the most of it. You can go to a professional, or you can just order a GloPro. I opted for the latter.
I wanted so badly to purchase this last year, but the price tag is scary. (Me: will drop $200 on a random pair of sunglasses, will spend 18 months weighing the pros and cons of a beauty tool that will improve my skin for years to come.) This year, Nordstrom heard my prayers, and the GloPro set that is usually $244 was on sale for $169 during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. After a couple (six) friends agreed that I needed it (wanted me to stop asking), it was on its way to my door.
Here’s what’s included:
- GloPRO® MicroStimulation Facial Tool
- GloPRO® Body Microtrip Attachment – BONUS ITEM FOR THIS SET!
- GloPRO® Storage Case
- Sanitizing Spritzer
- Instructional Guide
- Power Supply Cord
- Power Supply Adapter
The tool comes with instructions, but I was honestly terrified of the needles, so I watched a few HSN segments where Jamie and her dad explained how to use it. After that, I felt ready!
Here’s the bad news: the GloPro will not give you sky high legs, an entirely new bone structure, or put $50 million in your bank account. Bummer, I know, but it’s a great tool. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is with my product absorption. I’m positive they’re working better as I’ve noticed my skin is glowy, and I’m noticing fewer flare ups after too many cheeseburgers and glasses of rosé.
Have you tried microneedling? The GloPro? Let me know!
